Verdict: A nice emotional roller coaster ride.
Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is a sequel to Raju Gari Gadhi and is directed by Ohmkar. Starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Samantha Akkineni in prominent roles, it also has Seerat Kapoor, Ashwin Babu, Venella Kishore, Praveen, Naresh, Shakalaka Shankar and Rao Ramesh among the rest of cast. Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is based on Malayalam super hit movie Pretham that was released last year. Jointly produced by PVP Cinema, Matinee Entertainment and OAK Entertainment, the music and the background score have been composed by S.S.Thaman. The cinematography has been rendered by R.Diwakaran. Let’s see if Raju Gari Gadhi 2 was able to match the prequel.
What’s It About:
Ashwin (Ashwin Babu), Kishore (Venella Kishore) and Praveen (Praveen) are thick friends and invest all their money in a resort. Things turn bad when they realize that a ghost has haunted in the resort. They approach a mentalist named Rudra (Akkineni Nagarjuna) who is an expert in reading human minds and also assists police in several criminal cases with his cold reading techniques. Rudra visits the resort and realizes that the place is haunted by a spirit who is seeking answers to who killed her and why. The ghost happens to be Amrutha (Samantha Akkineni). To know who, why and what did the killers gain from her death, watch Raju Gari Gadhi 2.
Though Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is touted to be a horror comedy movie, it is sentiments and emotions that have dominated horror and comedy. The sentimental equation between Amrutha and her father Paramdhama (Rao Ramesh) works really well. The dialogues in the movie rendered by Nagarjuna will give you goosebumps, especially in the last 15 minutes. Cinematography and background score is good and gels well with the movie. The screenplay is neat without any confusion. With a runtime of just over two hours, there is no boring moment whatsoever. It is really nice to see Nagarjuna and Samantha in a single frame, maybe for the reason that she just got married to Nag’s son Chaithu. The production values are grand and every frame looks rich.
What Could Have Been Better:
As we know that this is a sequel to Raju Gari Gadhi, it is quite common for the audience to expect more horror and comedy. But surprisingly the sequel does not have any scene that really scares you.
Why You Should Watch:
Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is a heart-wrenching movie filled with beautiful emotions and has a very relevant message. Don’t expect a lot of horror and comedy and you will definitely love it for its beautiful dialogues and nice sentiment.
