Tamil actor Siddharth made his Bollywood debut in 2006 with the super-hit movie, Rang De Basanti. The audience fell in love with Karan Singhania for his reclusive, reserved, yet brave character. But not many know that Siddharth is nothing less than a superstar down south. The actor has made a name in Kollywood for his brilliant performances and also for being a great human being. The actor is not only the best at his work but even in personal life is known to be a kind-hearted and noble person. Be it providing a helping hand or standing up for what’s right, Sid has never shied away from following his heart.
Recently, the hottie expressed his displeasure on Twitter with the huge billboards that have been put up all over the country by a leading apparel brand featuring Ranveer Singh.
He tweeted the picture of the advert where Ranveer is seen carrying a woman on his shoulders and the ad reads, Don’t Hold Back. Take Your Work Home. The two are dressed in formal clothes and are seen leaving the office doors. Siddharth captioned this with his thoughts which read, “A new low for women’s rights in the workplace in India. What were they thinking? #Fail.”
In the past, Siddharth caught everyone’s attention when he stood against glorification of stalking women in films.
Talking about Ranveer’s latest ad campaign, Sid’s criticism comes at a time when women in India are still fighting for equal pay and against workplace harassment.
No doubt, many twitterati are in full agreement with the Tamil actor, but does it really deserve this much outrage? This is something that is open to debate. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
