‘Bewakoofiyan’, as the title suggests is a movie about being stupid – ‘Stupid In Love’ . It’s a modern age rom-com about a young couple who are head over heels in love. Sonam Kapoor, who has been playing more conservative roles like in ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ will be seen donning a hot pink bikini. The glam girl is in her true element, finally flaunting that sexy, well-toned body! Ayushmann Khurrana also takes on a more sexy avatar as we see this chocolate boy go shirtless. Boy! Do those biceps make him look dapper!
The duo will be sharing screen-space for the very first time and the obvious anticipation is what will the chemistry between the two be like – Hit or Miss! From the sneak-peek we got through the trailer, we’d place our bets on the former. The swimming pool scene and the club song will have your eyes glued to the screen! The romance is fresh, and for just a moment fairly attainable. Something about it makes you relate to the pair when they tease each other, pull into a hot kiss or get into a fight. The overall atmosphere is that of a happy fun-loving couple that everyone today may like to attain with their better-halves.
The couple is seen partying, rafting with friends and doing things pretty much everything a regular couple today would do. Away from the more realistic troubles of life, their biggest problem is Sonam’s father, played by Rishi Kapoor, who resists their marriage due to his daughter being financially superior. The film plays on the contradiction between love versus money being the key to happiness. The pair does look convincing enough to make you believe that at the end of the day, love is pretty much all you need.
Despite the story coming across as a very clichéd romance, the debut pairing of the Vicky Donor boy and the Kapoor girl who is known for her impeccable fashion sense, is something to look forward to. What’s more? This is going to be Sonam’s first-ever onscreen kiss. From the looks of it, we’d say this pairing was a good risk to take. Stylish, young, passionate and fresh. Green flag from our side.
