Do you remember the last time you hummed, "All I wanna say is that, they don’t really care about us"? The fourth single from the album – HIStory, this songs remains one of the most controversial song ever composed by MJ. When it released, the US media scrutinized the song, stating: the track and the singer propagated anti-semitism. Irrespective of what the media had to say, the fans and listeners of this song had a different opinion. ‘A perfect blend of music, video, voice, performance and a message about social ills.’

From ‘We Are The World’ to ‘Man In The Mirror’, Jackson has a history of offering songs with socially-conscious themes. The Earth Song is the first single to deal with environmental and animal welfare. Apart from the lavish video shot across 4 geographical locations, it is MJ’s headbanging performance towards the end that keeps you at the edge-of-your-seat. 3. Thriller

Release Date: November 12, 1983

Raise your hands if the zombies in Thriller gave you goosebumps. The scary looks, the yellow eyes and the whole visualization of the single is indeed scary. The video of Thriller song changed the face of music and visualization for years to come. The dancing zombies, though scary, caught the attention of the audiences and soon gained popularity. MJ‘s groovy dance moves in the Thriller video till date remains a refrence for the growing pop culture. There isn’t a single kid from the 90s who hasn’t tried dancing to the zombies.

2. Smooth Criminal

Release Date: October 24, 1988

Listening to this 10+ minute video will definite want you to go: ‘Annie are you ok? Are you ok Annie?’ Michael Jackson in a white suit, the moonwalk, and everything about this song will leave you craving for more. Wish it never comes to an end. Don’t believe us. Watch it for yourself.

Everyone would have gone through a rough time during school or college days. But have you ever said to an opponent, "Just wait ’til I get through’? May sound like you in a a cinematic world. But this was a true life incident that inspired MJ to make the song, Bad. This single created a rave among the music critics and fans of MJ. This song may sound a little braggadocios when you first listen to it, but the music reaches in and taps your ‘bad’ self, urging it to come out. Too bad?
