Royal Cooking: Masterchef Style – A delightful experience!

Rating: ★★★★

MasterChef Australia has been one of the most popular TV shows among Indian audiences without a shadow of a doubt. The series has completed six successful seasons so far and we’ve all had our favorites from each season. This weekend, four finalists from Season 6 came together for an exciting culinary event held in Mumbai. It was a unique experience for cuisine lovers to watch, learn and take home amazing recipes.
For MasterChef addicts, this was an opportunity to catch their favorite stars live! Being a huge fan of the show, I wasn’t going to miss it at any cost. First day, first session – there I was, waiting to find out what’s in store at this event. Out comes the talented Laura, one of my favorite contestants – mainly because of her achievements at such a young age. Bubbly, friendly and smiling, she was ready to blow everyone’s mind with her culinary skills. Laura started off with an Italian specialty called ‘Sweet and Sour Basa Fillet Fish with Balsamic Vinegar’ – a dish that was easy to cook, and required minimal cooking time.

It was impressive to watch Laura as she juggled between cooking and answering questions simultaneously. She ensured she was taking suggestions from the audience about things to do, what food to eat, and which places to visit in Mumbai. The beautiful aroma of caramelized onions on the other side created a wonderfully mouth-watering environment.

Her next dish was a dessert called ‘Poached Pears with Dark Chocolate Noodles’. It didn’t take Laura much time to finish her cooking spree in style. What she did at the cooking table was amazing. But more importantly, she created a lasting impression by showing us what a warm human being she is. Post her cooking demo, she also posed with her fans (including me) for photo ops, and gladly obliged when asked for autographs. Way to go, young girl!
Australia is beautiful, and so are its people. Cheers mate!
