‘Abu-Dahbi-Dooo!’ The four friends from the Big Apple are back and ready to take on a new place this time. Larger than life and oozing with opulence, this latest installment will have you lusting for the good life more than ever before.
Coping with their new lives, the girls have their own set of problems. Carrie Bradshaw (SJP) is finally married to her Mr. Big, but frets about falling into an ‘old couple’ rut. Charlotte (Kristen Davis) has her dream family, only handling 2 kids and worrying about her husband cheating on her with the nanny isn’t so dreamy. The workaholic, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), quits her job and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) is on 44 pills a day to fight menopause and stay young.
Samantha’s plan to escape: The Middle East. A swanky suite and private butler’s ease the stress a bit but its still lurking beneath. Miranda’s ‘inter-fun-tion’ in these ‘forbidden’ topics assures a good time, but not without ‘fate’ having its say. An old lover, a new fling and a drunken conversation lead to surprising consequences.
The characters are true to who they have been throughout. Carrie is still confused, impulsive and whimsical, and Samantha is out there with some racy one-liners that crack you up. They’re all ‘crazy in Abu Dahbi’ but never forget they’re in it together. As Samantha says, they’re ‘soul mates’. Yes, it does get a bit cheesy in places.
Sex and the City 2 is over indulgent and unapologetic about it. Over-the-top looks good on it, just like the fashion. There’s magic and sparkle and loftiness. As much as people may deny it, that’s the recipe for fun! If you’re looking for serious this is not your flute of champagne.
True fans, kick back and relax with some bubbly in your best Jimmy Choos.
