Maintaining a good posture is crucial for a healthy body and a confident gait. While there are many out there who want to achieve correct posture, not everyone achieves it. When one talks of posture, the general idea is that a person standing straight has a good posture and one whose back is slightly arched, has an incorrect one. However, it should be understood that posture is not limited to the way one stands. Good posture constitutes standing, walking, sitting and lying in positions where the least strain is placed on supporting muscles.

Organize your workplace
If your job requires you to sit for long hours at a computer, consider arranging your workspace in the most favorable way. The most important thing here is to adjust the height of your chair according to your table.

Hold your phone correctly
Avoid stooping while using your phone. Try holding your phone right in front of you instead.

Learn how to breathe properly
Breathing efficiently using your diaphragm contributes to an organically beautiful posture.

Watch your posture at all times
You should always make a conscious effort to keep your back straight while working, driving or sleeping, even. To maintain a healthy posture while asleep, the choice of mattress and pillow become crucial.

Sit with your back at a 135 degree angle
Sitting with your back at a proper angle will ensure that your back is less strained.

Train your core muscles
Practicing yoga, pilates or aerobics without overstraining yourself will help you attain a perfect posture. Also, don't forget to do a warm-up for your shoulders, neck and back.

Stand correctly
The optimum position for your spine to hold up your whole body would include – a straight back, legs at shoulder width, your bottom a bit to the front, and your shoulders a little behind. Try not to put your hands in your pockets as it could make you stoop.
