After impressing us in a thriller like Trapped, comedies like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Behen Hogi Teri, as well as a black comedy drama such as Newton, Rajkummar Rao is back on screen again with a new romantic comedy. This has certainly been a great year for him and we can only hope that it ends on a better note. His upcoming film, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, stars him in the lead role alongside Kriti Kharbanda, who was last seen in Guest iin London. The film is all set to hit the screens this week, so if you haven’t seen the trailer already, catch it here:
As you can see, the plot seems like yet another arranged marriage situation. Satyendra aka Sattu (Rajkummar) and Aarti (Kriti) meet and agree to wed. Over the course of the wedding planning, it is evident that they start falling for each other. They are both simpletons, living a fairly middle-class life. Everything seems smooth until the big day when something goes wrong and the wedding does not happen. The trailer suddenly goes dark after this and years later, Sattu and Aarti meet again. Only, circumstances have pitted them against each other and the romantic comedy suddenly seems to turn into a revenge drama.
Apart from its popular lead actors, the movie also stars veterans Vipin Sharma, Manoj Pahwa and Govind Namdev. Director Ratnaa Sinha is certainly not new to the family drama genre, being the mind behind the TV show ‘Baabul Ka Aangan Chootey Na’. It would be interesting to see what the cast and crew bring to the film, but based on their past work, this one is sure to be a gripping entertainer. The soundtrack, meanwhile, has been composed by Anand Raj Anand among many others. 11 songs have been released by Zee Music Company, which you can catch on the BookMyShow Jukebox.
If you are excited to see this movie like we are, just hold on for a few more days. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana releases this Friday and we will be there, watching it FDFS.
