After grabbing attention in Raju Hirani's Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor is all set to play a dacoit in YRF's newly-announced Shamshera. The production house released the first look of the movie on the 6th of May and it shows Ranbir in a never-seen-before avatar, holding an ax and a quiver of arrows.

Ranbir has always been open to experimenting with new characters and roles and in Shamshera, the actor will be playing a fearless and ferocious dacoit. He has also expressed that the character is everything that he has ever imagined to play. Ranbir, whose current projects include challenging roles in Sanju and Brahmastra, definitely is set to take his career a notch higher with Shamshera.
This movie also brings the reel and real Sanju together, for Sanjay Dutt has been cast as the villain of the film. For a protagonist as untamed as this, the antagonist needs to be even more dangerous and fierce, and Dutt fits the bill perfectly. The film is a part of the 3-movie deal with director Karan Malhotra, who has previously directed the blockbuster, Agneepath.
This high-octane drama is all set to go on the floor by the end of this year and wrap up by the mid-2019.
