Shatamanam Bhavati: Film Review – Emotional Roller Coaster Ride

Verdict: Human emotions portrayed in the most beautiful way.

Shatamanam Bhavati starring Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles is produced by Dil Raju and directed by Satish Vegesana. The movie was hyped enough as Dil Raju announced this movie as his dream and prestigious project. It has been a two year journey for the team to come up with a tight bound script and the shoot was completed in a span of about three months.

Indukuri Raghava Raju (Prakash Raj) and Janakamma (Jayasudha) are a elderly couple who stay in Athreyupuram, a village in coastal district of Andhra Pradesh. They have two sons and a daughter settled in America, Canada and Australia respectively. It has been ten years since their kids last visited them and Janakamma threatens Raghav Raju to call their kids back or else she will leave him and live with one of her children. Raghav Raju sends an email to his children and they return to India. How does Raghav Raju convince his children to return? What impressed Nitya (Anupama Paramewaran) about Raju (Sharwanand) to fall in love? Do Raghav Raju's children realize the importance of being together? To know the answer to these questions, one must watch Shatamanam Bhavati.

Shatamanam Bhavati: Film Review – Emotional Roller Coaster Ride

Sharwanand as Raju delivers a mature performance and adds yet another feather to his cap with this movie. Anupama Parameswaran as Nitya is bubbly and is a perfect fit in the role of an Indian residing abroad who develops an immediate liking for her roots. The chemistry between Raju and Nitya is the major highlight of Shatamanam Bhavati. Prakash Raj as Raghav Raju gives an intense performance and this role is tailor-made for him. Jaysudha as Janikamma is very apt. Naresh as Kangarraju is another pick of the lot who has succeeded in bringing the much needed comic relief

Written and directed by Satish Vegesana, he succeeded in portraying human emotions in a effective way. The dialogues are a big plus. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is excellent and the way he captures the village on screen is exceptional. The music by Mickey .J. Meyeris good and background score is bit routine. The editing by Madhu is neat. Dil Raju sets the production value standards high once again.

Why You Should Watch This Movie

This is a must-watch movie for people who live away from their parents for work or any other reason. Overall, Shatamanam Bhavati is awholesome family entertainer that is rich in human emotions and traditions. A perfect flick for the Sankranti season.
