Verdict: Fresh, energetic and full of life.
Kangana Ranaut is a self-made woman and there is no denying that. She has been trending for quite some time, the latest reason being her interview in Aap Ki Adalat. But there is one more reason why the actress is currently in the news. Her latest film Simran is to hit theatre screens this Friday, and looking at the trailer and the film’s album, we are sure the queen is going to deliver another blockbuster.
Simran is about a free spirited woman who lives life her way and is unlike others. While we are waiting to see Kangana pull off another challenging role onscreen, the film’s songs have been catching a lot of attention. Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the album consists of six songs; all different from each other and are fortunately all original compositions. The album is fresh, full of life and definitely one of the best this year.
Sachin-Jigar have given the audiences a wonderful ensemble of singers comprising the likes of Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan, and Arijit Singh. Let’s review each song:
1. Lagdi Hai Thaai
This one has the energy of London Thumakda and we are totally loving it. Sung by Guru Randhawa and Jonita Gandhi, this is a foot-tapping number and though situational, the audiences are sure to enjoy it at all wedding celebrations.
2. Pinjra Tod ke
There is a certain kind of magic in Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice and she owns this soothing number. The song has a rare quality to lift your soul as it talks about one’s freedom to be their self. The various instruments that play in the background just add more beauty.
We can’t help but fall in love with Arijit Singh all the more as every song that he sings touches our soul. Meet is a romantic number that you can very well dedicate to your loved one at any time.
4. Baras Ja
Mohit Chauhan will take you back to his Silk Route days with this soft number. Although the music is soothing, Mohit’s powerful voice will give rise to a thousand emotions; thereby proving the singer’s unmatchable talent.
5. Single Rehne De
Kangana’s chirpiness and mischief will make you fall in love with her. But apart from that, the song Majaa Ni Life is a complete laughter riot if you are one who is constantly bombarded with the question, `Shadi Kab Kar Rahi Ho?`
6. Simran Title Track
This playful melody, though similar to Barfi’s title track, will make you do the cha cha cha on the dance floor. Sung by Jigar himself, Simran’s title track is peppy and full of masti.
