Who’s your favorite? Martin Scorsese or Stanley Kubrick. When it comes to choosing between two of cinema’s greatest talents, we tend to get a little confused. Isn’t that obvious?
It must be noted that Kubrick’s work has influenced many contemporary directors like Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. Scorsese described Stanley Kubrick’s artistry as "Watching a Kubrick film is like gazing up at a mountaintop. You look up and wonder, how could anyone have climbed that high? There are emotional passages and images and spaces in his films that have an inexplicable power…” But nonetheless, both the legendary directors have given us some pretty badass films.
As a tribute to the grandeur of their filmmaking, Brazilian movie buff Leandro Copperfield created a video mash-up of the films of the two great directors. He picked 500 scenes from a total of 34 films. It includes A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut, Taxi Driver, The Departed and Shutter Island.
It’s fun to watch Copperfield’s video montage, which glorifies the work of Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. Start your day with a bang with this absolutely incredible Kubrick vs Scorsese supercut. Choose your favorite.
