Verdict: Badlapur is the easy blending of three J’s that strike dynamically different musical chords: Jee Karda-Jeena-Judaai!
Badla Badla is the only track that despite having Vishal Dadlani’s rustic vocals does not vacuum the listener as much as the remainder tracks. However it infuses energy and sprints on the same line as Jee Karda. The lyrics written by producer Dinesh Vijan and Priya Saraiya work brilliantly for Jee Karda. The pump and the beats are well-laid to make the music work with the lyrics.
Jeena Jeena is Atif Aslam’s win all the way. This romantic number has the essence of love and also brings to the fore a sense of loss through its tune. Atif Aslam’s work in Bollywood has garnered him appreciation from audiences and critics alike. Jeena Jeena is an addition to his body of work.
Much like the ongoing trend of having Arijit Singh’s signature voice for at least a track in the better harvest of Bollywood music albums; the composers of Badlapur too have Judaai. In the voice of Rekha Bharadwaj and Arijit Singh, Judaai makes you take note of the coming together of Rekha Bharadwaj’s mystic voice and Arijit’s vocals. Priced at Rs.149, the album is worth your money and packs a punch primarily in three tracks with remixes for the masses.
