Born Diana Mariam Kurien on November 18, 1984, to Malayalee parents, Nayanthara the actress turns 32 today. Nayanthara has acted not only in Malayalam movies but also in a number of Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies. She is one of the most gorgeous and talented actresses in the South Indian film industry who can give many Bollywood actresses a run for their money. She made her acting debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare opposite Jayaram and followed with Vismayathumbathu opposite Mohanlal and Mukesh before foraying into Tamil and Telugu cinema.

Nayanthara was spotted in her college days by director Sathyan Anthikkad who was the director of her debut movie Manassinakkare.
Soon after winning over Mollywood audience, she went on to star in the Tamil movie Ayya opposite Sarath Kumar. She later went on to act in Tamil movies opposite top actors like Rajinikanth, Ajith, Suriya and Vijay. Her big ticket to stardom was the superhit 2005 Tamil film Chandramukhi opposite Rajinikanth and since then there has been no looking back for her. In the same year, she starred in the blockbuster Ghajini along with Suriya and Asin, which was directed by the ace director A.R. Murugadoss. In 2006, she made her Tollywood debut with the movie Lakshmi. Her co-star in the film was Venkatesh Daggubati.Her other Telugu movies such as Yogi opposite Prabhas and Thulasi opposite Venkatesh, however, failed at the box office. It was with the movie Billa opposite Ajith Kumar where she made a strong comeback to Tollywood.
Her next movie was the Tamil movie Yaaradi Nee Mohini with Dhanush, which was a grand success.
But her personal life took a toll on her professional life and soon she gave many flops one after the other. She made a comeback with hits like Bodyguard (2010) opposite Dileep and Boss Engira Bhaskaran(2010) opposite Arya. Bodyguard was even remade in Hindi starringSalman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead.
In 2013 she appeared in the blockbuster movie Raja Rani opposite Arya, which saw her in a new avatar and she received rave reviews for her look and style in the movie.In 2014, she was seen in the movie Anaamika, which was the Telugu remake of the Vidya Balan starrer suspense thriller Kahaani.
Her upcoming Tamil horror movie Dora, directed by Dass Ramasamy, is set to release in 2017.
