Spiderman Age Reveal

A while ago, we found out that Tom Holland will be playing the friendly neighborhood Spiderman. At 19, he’s the youngest actor to play the webslinger. As long as anyone but Tobey Maguire is playing the superhero, we’re happy.

However, according to the makers of the film, there is an even bigger change in the film. During a press conference before the next Spiderman film was announced, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said that they were trying to create a younger Spiderman, and that they wouldn’t make another origin story. Now, after a considerable amount of time, the director of the film, Jon Watts, finally confirmed the character’s age in the film. And it’s a stunner – a 15-year-old Peter Parker!

Don’t believe us? Here’s a quote from the Empire magazine, in which Watts revealed the exact age for Spiderman in the next film:

"We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie. The kid is Spiderman."

Apart from this, Tom Holland will also appear in the highly awaited Captain America: Civil War in 2016, after which he will be seen in his standalone film as Spidey. With this small tidbit revealed, there is one question that begs to be asked: Should they just call the movie Spiderboy, now?

With that said, we’re rooting for Holland, since he really shows promise as the athletic and agile webslinger. Here’s to a younger Spiderman!
