The Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians, two of the most successful sides in the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) history, will clash in what promises to be a mouthwatering tournament opener for IPL 2020. The two heavyweights will play each other on Saturday, September 19 at Abu Dhabi.
The 13th edition of the T20 tournament, which is usually played between April and May in India, was postponed on account of the coronavirus situation in India before finally being shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament will be played from September 19 to November 10 across three venues in the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dispelled all rumours of the IPL getting postponed further, after a COVID outbreak was reported in the CSK camp. Things seem to be under control as the MS Dhoni-led outfit is set to dive into action on the very first day of the tournament.
