T20 Cricket League In The News Again!

The most coveted cricket tournament in the world with T20 format is back with its 10th season and with a bang. The Indian Premier League is going to start in almost two weeks and the cricket fans in the country and around the world can’t wait any longer now! It is that time when the Indian Team is already playing against Australia in 4 match Test series which is 1-1 at the moment. Summer season is here and it's going to heat up exponentially once this tournament starts. Be it for good or bad reasons, this league has always been in news and has made a buzz all around.

The biggest buzz around this season’s IPL has been Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan being unsold. Yes, it very much just happened. In spite of a couple of good performances, Ishant couldn’t find any bidder; maybe because of his base price, which was 2 crore. He missed out on the English tour of India and played just one match. On the other hand, Irfan is prone to injuries and has been out of form lately. He has missed out on International as well as domestic cricket and that was the reason franchises were least interested in this swing bowler.

Another upset happened when Rising Pune Supergiant replaced M.S. Dhoni as captain with Australian Captain Steve Smith. Dhoni was recently replaced by Virat Kohli as the captain of the Indian cricket team in both limited overs format games. Though he is aged, it is still evident from his form and agility that a lot of cricket is left in the star player. Dhoni has been the most successful Indian captain ever and has made India win the World Cups in all formats of the game.

South African star batsman JP Duminy, in other news, has withdrawn his name from the current season due to personal reasons. This is a great shock to the Delhi side as well as his fans in India as he has been in good form in the previous seasons of the league and also in International cricket lately. So while you wait for the IPL to commence from 5th of April, you can enjoy the last test match of India with Australia which can be a decider for the series. The old rivals are fighting hard and the last three matches have been a real roller coaster ride.
