The Premier League Is Set To Kick Off In June

Football fans across the globe can heave a sigh of relief, as the English Premier League is set to restart on Wednesday, June 17, subject to government approval.

The Premier League had been postponed indefinitely in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic, with the last game taking place on Monday, March 9. The action is now set to resume on Wednesday, June 17, when Aston Villa will take on Sheffield United at Aston and Manchester City will face Arsenal at Manchester. This will be followed by a full round of fixtures on the weekend of June 19 to 21. All matches will take place behind closed doors.

With 92 matches remaining in the season, the provisional end date is set as Saturday, July 25, on the calculation that completion of the season would require six weekends and three-midweek rounds.

Indian fans can continue watching live action on Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar.
