The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) is quickly approaching, and it’s safe to say we’re excited! After all, it’s not everyday that you get to see champions, legends and rising stars come together for some pure, unadulterated tennis action.
The IPTL will feature a who’s-who of tennis; including Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Sania Mirza. If you want to get to know each team, we’ve got you covered. Find out more about the Manila Mavericks and their star-studded line-up here:

Andy Murray

At 27, Murray’s claim to fame includes an Olympic gold medal, the Wimbledon Championships singles title and 2 Grand Slam singles titles, just to name a few! The British tennis star also made history when he became the first British male to win the Wimbledon Championships in 77 years!

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Jo-Wilfried’s serves are known as the fastest, strongest and most dominant ones on the scene. The Olympic silver medalist is also the only player to have won Grand Slams against Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray!

Kirsten Flipkens

It’s a player’s persistence and ability to overcome obstacles that truly makes them a champion. No one is better proof of this than Flipkens, who battled serious illnesses to make a glorious comeback at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. The 28-year-old was also called the sportswoman of the year in 2013, further proving her mettle.

Daniel Nestor

Undoubtedly one of Canada’s best tennis players, Daniel Nestor is one of three players to ever have won all four Grand Slams, Masters series events, the Year Ending Championships and an Olympic gold medal. As if all that wasn’t enough, Nestor has also won 85 men’s doubles titles!

Carlos Moya

An essential part of the ATP Champions Tour, Carlos Moya has to his credit ATP Tour singles titles in 11 countries! The Spaniard, who was on the 2004 Davis Cup-winning team, has earned a reputation as an unstoppable force in the world of tennis… And all for good reason!

Maria Sharapova

Time Magazine has rightly called Maria Sharapova one of the 30 Legends of Women’s Tennis: Past, Present and Future. The Russian star took the tennis world by storm at the tender age of 17, when she defeated Serena Williams in the 2004 Wimbledon finals. To say that she has only gotten better with each game would be a gross understatement.

Treat Huey

In March 2014, Treat Huey received the doubles ranking of no. 20, marking a career high for him. Once you’ve watched him work his magic in a doubles game, you can see exactly why! The star, who has won 3 ATP World Tour Doubles Titles, has been on a roll and it’s safe to say that he’s going to make the IPTL special too!

Now that you know more about the Manila Mavericks, you can watch them create magic on the court. Book your tickets for the IPTL now, and witness the action live!
