Repeating their amazing performance from last year, Mumbai Rockets are rocking the Premier Badminton League this time as well. The team is at the top of the charts right now with 16 points! The Runner Up of PBL 2016, the Rockets are endowed with the World No. 3 Sung Ji Hyun, who has come to India after reaching the final of the World Superseries Finals last month. With their last win against Bengaluru Blasters yesterday, the team has cruised to Semi Finals of PBL 2017.

In its last week now, Premier Badminton League has been an exciting tournament so far. With 8 Olympic gold medallists battling it out for the title with their teams, it has become one of the top notch Sports events of the country. The league, which kicked off on 1st of January, has brought some high-octane badminton action to the sub-continent. The clashes of the champions have become all the more exciting this season with the inclusion of International champions like Carolina Marin, Cheung Ngan Yi, Sung Ji Hyun, Viktor Axelsen, Vincent Wong Wing Ki, Sung Hyun, Yoo Yeon Seong and Lee Yong Dae. National champions include the likes of Parupalli Kashyap and B Sumeeth Reddy, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth, Jwala Gutta, Ajay Jayaram, Olympic Silver medallist, P.V Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, Sameer Verma, Saurabh Verma.

The Rockets have been on a roller coaster ride this season. Mumbai’s Ajay Jayaram and HS Prannoy have proved to be giant killers for the team. In their opening match itself, they managed to upset some big players, namely, World No. 2 Jan O Jorgensen and the World No. 4 Son Wan Ho of the Delhi Acers. And not to miss their last match victory against the higher-ranked Srikanth Kidambi and Vincent Wong Wing Ki. Their Men's double team, Lee Yong Dae and Nipitphon Phuangphuapet is unbeaten so far. The team has one more league match to be played tomorrow against Chennai Smashers, who are placed at the third number in the table.
