Four More Shots Please!, which premiered on Amazon Prime in January 2019 will return for a second season on Friday, April 17. Here’s a quick recap of the first season.

The show profiles four modern, upper-class women, each of whom struggles with a set of problems. They met at a bar, where they knocked back a countless number of shots, hence the show’s title. They are Damini Rizvi Roy (Sayani Gupta), an award-winning journalist; Anjana (Kirti Kulhari) a lawyer who’s divorced and unable to move on in life ever since her husband left her with their four-year-old girl; Umang (Bani J) a bisexual fitness instructor who falls in love with a celeb client and Siddhi Patel (Maanvi Gagroo), who is bullied by her mother into becoming skinny to get married.

The women deal with personal trials as well as issues such as online harassment and discrimination at the workplace. The first season had ups and downs, failing in the beginning to live up to the promise of the trailer. But the final couple of episodes were worth watching as the characters broke free of cliches to present a meaningful picture of the modern Indian woman.
