The first episode chronicles Piyush Prajapati’s (Abhishek Chauhan) first day at work as a junior developer in Synnotech Technologies . Fresh out of college, he’s eager to prove himself, rushing through his morning routine to ensure he reports to work on time.
As Piyush adds the final touches to his prep, he chides his roommate, Kalpesh (Arnav Bhasin), for not being ready. They’re to share a ride to their workplace, as Kalpesh has got a job there as well. Piyush is nervous yet excited about stepping into this new phase of life.
Piyush faces trouble getting through the main door to his office as the biometric system denies him access. When he enters late, his seniors demand an explanation for his tardiness. His account lands the biometric system administrator, Angad Waghmare (Shivankit Singh Parihar), in trouble.
Piyush’s team leader, Megha (Nidhi Bisht) assigns him a major coding task, which needs to be completed in four hours. Angad, who has a bone to pick with Piyush, slyly advises him to copy-paste the codes from a software that’s already available. Piyush does just this, and as anticipated by Angad, receives a tongue lashing from his bosses.
Piyush retreats to the restroom to have a good cry. Megha finds him and after hearing what he’s been through the whole day, points out that just like the coding task required debugging, so does the first day at work.
From the look of the first episode, Cubicles seems to be a heart-warming, slice-of-life drama that’s bound to bring back memories of one’s first job.
