Netflix proved last year that even though it’s not an old-school Hollywood production studio, it can still make award-winning feature films with Roma. Although the season of summer blockbusters for theatrical releases might be over, there are many movies to look forward to this year that will be streaming online in a few months. Between Two Ferns: The Movie

From getting their movies wrong to dissing them, Zach didn’t bother behaving like a respectful interviewer. Although episodes became infrequent, the show is technically still running and now it has its own movie with a long list of celebrities making appearances in it.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

The Laundromat

Based on the Panama Papers financial scandal which revealed offshore entities being used illegally by the world’s wealthiest, this film is directed by the Oceans’ Trilogy director Steven Soderbergh. It also has a studded cast which includes Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, and Antonio Banderas in the lead roles.

Dolemite Is My Name

A biographical comedy film, Dolemite Is My Name has Eddie Murphy playing real-life filmmaker Rudy Ray Moore who became famous for portraying a character called Dolemite in stand-up routines and blaxploitation films. It also has an amazing cast with Keegan-Michael Key, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess, Wesley Snipes, and more.

The King

Historical dramas are always big in Hollywood and this year, Netflix is bringing a film starring one of the most bankable rising stars, Timothée Chalamet. The King has already received positive reception at film festivals and might even be a strong contender during the next awards season.

The Two Popes

Starring Anthony Hopkins as Pope Benedict XVI and Jonathan Pryce as the future Pope Francis, this film is another biographical comedy. The film follows the two popes as they discuss their lives and the direction in which the Catholic Church is headed.
