Netflix just released the trailer of its new documentary The Great Hack, which tackles the misuse of the world’s most valuable asset today, data. It examines the infamous Cambridge Analytica scandal that revealed how the company had illicitly harvested user data from social media and used it to influence the 2016 US election. It attempts to uncover the role of Cambridge Analytica and Facebook in user data exploitation.
Directed by Karim Amer and Jehane Noujaim and written by Karim Amer, Erin Barnett and Pedro Kos, the documentary will debut on Netflix on Wednesday, July 24. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
