"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." – Rachel Zoe
A powerful statement from an equally powerful and stylish woman. She is one of those perfectly-put-together ladies, who seem to get it right every time. We have all known people like her all our lives. They take two completely wrong pieces of clothing and work magic with them.
While style is a very personal thing and every person has his/her own taste, there are a few things that all stylish people have in common. These five commandments are what sets the stylish lot apart. Follow these rules, and you can be a part of the stylish brigade.
Blindly following trends
This is one of the worst style sins. Don't follow fads just because the world is doing so. Judge whether the style will sit well with your personality before adopting it.
Dressing for other people
Never dress for other people. Dress only if you feel comfortable and dress in what makes you look good. Using clothes as a form of expression is much better than simply dressing because you feel you will impress someone.
Wearing ill-fitting clothes
Ill-fitting clothes are a big no-no! You can never look smart or sharp if you don't wear clothes that are well cut out and fit your body perfectly. You should invest in a few tailor-made pieces that are perfect.
Often we see clothes on the ramp that look gorgeous but are not at all wearable. You should pick clothes you are comfortable in. There's no point in wearing a tube dress if you are going to be tugging it all through the day now, is it?
Love your clothes
A stylish person treats their clothes well. They make sure that they don't end up tossing their dress on a chair in the room. Most of the people we know are guilty of this! But keeping your clothes properly is a very important tip. Hang your clothes and they will hang right on you…wrinkle-free and fresh!
