Talented Kids of Famous Musicians

When you sit back and try to recall your music idols, you are hit with a wave of nostalgia. Which eventually makes you think, “What would the world be like if they were still alive?” Or “Will their kids be able to recreate that same magic?”. Maybe, in some way, we are unknowingly creating a lot of pressure for these offsprings to match the standards that their parents set in the industry. Is this fair or unfair? Well, we will leave it up to you to decide. But one thing is for sure, that when you have a famous, talented parent, their talent-filled genes are bound to get passed down to you in one or the other form.

When kids of many talented musicians grow up, they either follow their parents' footsteps or try and find their true calling through other art forms. Be it music, art, acting, or business, these kids have managed to create a buzz in the industry on the basis of their own talent.

Nancy Sinatra – Frank Sinatra
These boots are made for walkin…” This famous pop song that climbed up the charts and went on to be the No. 1 hit on Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart in 1966, was recorded by none other than Nancy Sinatra, the daughter of famous crooner, Frank Sinatra.

Lisa Marie Presley – Elvis Presley
The “Don’t Cry Daddy” duet singer who also featured in the iconic music video, “You Are Not Alone” by Michael Jackson is the daughter of the American Rock and Roll legend, Elvis Presley. She has mainly been in the news for her versatile singing and her relationships with Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage.

Ziggy, Stephen, and Damian – Bob Marley
When you think of reggae music, the name Bob Marley comes to mind. He is the one who put Jamaica on the map and gave us some radical music that would any day make you groove. And the same legacy has been carried forward by his kids – Ziggy, Stephen, and Damian. Their collaborations with other artists and experiments with various genres have won them Grammy Awards and made their fame go global.

Stella Santana – Carlos Santana
The ‘Maria Maria’, singer has definitely passed on his musical genes to his daughter, Stella. She, like her father creates some soulful music and is one of the up and coming R&B artists that you need to watch out for.   

Wolfgang Van Halen – Eddie Van Halen
Named after the classical composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, he is the son of the guitarist, Eddie Van Halen. The 25-year-old Wolfie, has mastered some of his father’s skills and is now a part of a heavy metal band called Tremonti, where he plays the bass.

Kelly Lee Osbourne – Ozzy Osbourne
Talk about being versatile, Kelly Osbourne has tried it all. From singing to writing to acting to fashion, she has successfully made her mark in all these categories. We are sure that ‘the Godfather of Heavy Metal’, Ozzy Osbourne will be very proud of his daughter.

Jakob Dylan – Bob Dylan 
The singer-songwriter of the Grammy Award-winning band, The Wallflowers, is the son of the rock legend, Bob Dylan. Apart from performing with The Wallflowers, Jakob has also managed to record some solo albums. His song, ‘Here Comes Now’, was also featured as the theme song for the TV show, Six Degrees.  

Liv Tyler – Steven Tyler
You have seen her in movies such as Armageddon, Stealing Beauty, the Lord of the Rings series, and so on. Liv is a former model and an actress who is the daughter of the front-man of the band Aerosmith, Steven Tyler. She started her modelling career at the age of 14, and then she moved on to do TV commercials, and the rest is history.

Jeff Buckley – Tim Buckley 
Born with oodles of talent, but died way too young! Such was the case of the famous singer Tim Buckley and his son, Jeff Buckley, who met with unfortunate deaths before they could explore their thirties. They were two of the few talented folk rock singers who had a four-octave singing range. Jeff was a huge fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and was mainly known for his rendition of the song ‘Hallelujah’.

Frances Bean Cobain – Kurt Cobain
They say that Frances is the splitting image of her father, Kurt Cobain. What do you think? This wild-child who went through a troubled childhood is now exploring her creative side. She is currently pursuing visual arts and put up her first art show last year.
