Impeccable animation has always been the unique selling point of Hollywood flicks. Jonathan Liebesman has taken this to a whole new level with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which utilizes state-of-the-art motion capture technology. Now, our "Heroes in a Half Shell" have evolved from looking like dressed-up actors to being real-life ninja turtles!
The motion-capture technology was used to capture the movements of the actors. These clips were then visually transformed to mutate them into the turtles we see onscreen. As Jonathan explained, "Motion capture is a process by which you take an actor’s performance and translate it into a computer.”
“It’s so nice to have a living, breathing human being there, who will improve your reactions and switch things up, because you find really great things in those moments," said Megan Fox, who plays the beautiful April O’Neal.
The incredible VFX have made it possible for actors dressed in ninja suits to look like the life-sized green giants. Alan Ritchson, who plays Raphael – the headstrong brother says, "We’re really acting these parts out and then there is this incredible technology to transfer what we have done and turn it into a turtle!”

The studio also gave us a glimpse into the making of Wiz Khalifa’s music video for the film:
There are so many things we love about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and one of them is definitely their ninjutsu skills. What’s better? Their arsenal is an extension of their personality. Paramount Pictures India’s newest video shows Leonardo, the leader with a blue bandana, and his use of his ‘Katana’. The rebellious Raphael, who is always seen with a red bandana, makes excellent use of his favourite weapon ‘Sai’. The hilarious Michelangelo in the quirky orange bandana loves the ‘Nunchaks’ and the tech-savvy Donatello in his purple bandana impresses with his ‘Bo Staff’. The makers have added a fresher, more realistic look to the turtles even though their colours, weapons of choice and other basics have been kept constant.
