Cast: Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Kangna Ranaut, Sameera Reddy, Boman Irani, Zayed Khan, Mohanlal
Synopsis: Tezz is one man`s fight to get back what was taken away from him unjustly while the other man will do whatever it takes to stop him from succeeding in his mission. Both men are set in opposition to each other and both are equally fighting against time. Many lives have already been destroyed and a few more could be at stake as a speeding train running between Glasgow and London holds the fate of Aakash Rana and Counter Terrorism Commandant Arjun Khanna, and only one of them will succeed in this operation.
Review: Three illegal immigrants, three talented actors wasted, one illogical revenge plan and one badly written film. Thankfully, "Tezz" is visually a good film to watch. As the name suggests, the movie is fast-paced for the most part but the plot is so half-baked and illogical, it’s hard to concentrate on the pace or the good action sequences. Yes, there were some great chase sequences but as a whole, if one ignores the grave lack of logic and is into it just for the action, pace and style, then it’s not entirely bad.
So Ajay Devgan, Sameera Reddy and Zayed Khan play three illegal immigrants in the UK. Kangana plays Ajay’s pregnant wife. When the immigration department cracks down on them, Ajay helps the other two escape and gets deported back to India. Remember the illogical part, here it comes. When he comes back to the UK after 4 years, he gets together with the other two and plants bombs on trains and blackmails the UK government for money. All this instead of finding his wife and kid. Anil Kapoor plays a retired anti-terrorism officer who is called back to hunt down the bombers. Most of the film then becomes a cat and mouse chase sequence between Anil and the three bombers. Most of these chase sequences are fast-paced, well-shot and action-packed.
The rest of the plot is as bizarre and random as could be. Just as you think it couldn’t get more bizarre, the climax hits you in the face with a pointless punch. Like I said earlier, if you’re in for the action and style, you might find this fun and enjoyable. But don’t bother looking for a story or any kind of logic in the film.
Verdict: Great action, stylishly shot, but weak on story and logic. Watch it if you must.
