3 days. 35+ comedians. 1 stage. Unlimited laughter!
After two mega festivals in the year 2017 which saw over 10,000 people and over 50 artists performing, the third edition of The Pune Comedy Festival is back to the city of Pune. With a massive lineup and all the big names on the Indian comedy scene, this festival promises to be the best long weekend of this year!
PCF 3.0 has a massive lineup and hence the festival is going to last for three days, from 30th March 2018 to 1st April 2018, just like the maiden one did. The venue has been decided with the convenience of the fans in mind – the centrally located Royal Palms Lawns, Koregaon Park, right next to the Hard Rock Cafe.
This festival was just meant to be because 30th March is a public holiday and the concluding day is on the 1st of April. It is as if the Universe has decided that you should be laughing throughout the coming weekend. And we have also listed the most important names of the top comedians here for you to know what to expect every day.
If you are aware of their comedy you know you cannot miss any of these acts but if you are new to the stand-up scene, let us tell you more about these people who stand up for your happiness:
Zakir Khan – for the sakht log
Who doesn't know this guy? A phenomenal storyteller and the most relatable comedian for all the sakht launde around, Zakir Khan is a man who is funny because he can make you laugh at his broken heart and his past relationships. He is not only funny but also an inspiration for those who have stopped believing in their dreams. Go watch him and laugh your hearts out. <Read more about Zakir here>
Kanan Gill – for the ones whose speak and understand sarcasm
We all have seen Kanan Gill on YouTube and the pretentious reviews are funny even when you see it for the 100th time. His stand-up special is also on Amazon Prime if you need a little convincing but trust us, he is as sarcastic as they make them. <Read the review of one of his stand-up shows>
Biswa Kalyan Rath – for the self-aware and mast humans
Biswa Kalyan Rath is so funny that even looking at him will make you laugh. After the huge success of his special Mast Aadmi, it is impossible not to laugh while you take his name or speak of his accent. You can always look at his videos for a good laugh if you are having a bad day.
Atul Khatri – for the hornies, the Sindhis, and everyone who's 50 at heart
The horny Sindhi (his words, not ours), Atul Khatri is also a part of this festival and why not? He is the winner of CEO's Got Talent. Imagine living a life that is 50 years long and being a Sindhi for the entire span, how much material you'd have! Even three days of the festival won't be enough for this one. <Read more about the comedian here>
Jeeveshu Ahluwalia – for those who can't laugh during the funnies
It is said that this man can make the dead laugh. So if you are too cool to laugh on regular and really funny jokes, challenge yourself and attend his show. He is a Punjabi and also the Salman Khan of fat world. <Read the review of his roast here>
Abish Mathew – for the self-obsessed and those who like laughing at the self-obsessed
Abish Mathew is mostly known because of his association with AIB, his online show Son of Abish and his sense of humor. He is from Delhi and self-admittedly really handsome. But believing him is up to you.
Sumukhi Suresh – for the feminists, the cheeky ones or both
The female lead of this lineup, Sumukhi is known for many ultra funny sketches, like her Behti Naak series. She now boasts of her own series on Amazon Prime as well. Right from being a part of The Improv, with her own atypical style of comedy, she has been making the nation laugh since years now.
Rahul Subramanian – for the non-sense PJ lovers…so everyone
Rahul has been touring the country and beyond with his comedy special Kal Main Udega which explicitly says that the comedy is meaningless and laced with PJs. He dances, and throws one-liners and punchlines that can have your jaws hurting. <Read more about this comedian here>
Daniel Fernandes – for the witty and smart ones
Daniel is one comedian who can kill you with his comebacks. Live shows, stand-up specials, interactive comedy, you name it and he will create something uber funny out of it. Maybe he is born with it, maybe it's the unique perception of his circumstances. The point being, he is hilarious. <Read more about this comedian here>
Not only comedians, the festival will also have a curated quirky flea market, bars, and food stalls. Trust us, you'll have the time of your life. Book now to make there on time!
