Top 5 Virat Kohli Knocks

Fearlessness, Aggression and Leadership are words synonymous with Virat Kohli. The young boy who led India to victory in the 2008 U-19 World Cup has now become the mainstay of the famed Indian batting line-up. Never one to shy away from responsibility, Kohli settles into his stride easily. Viewers expect a lot from Kohli once he steps on the field, but give a little credit to the man who averages as good as Sir Vivian Richards. A live-wire on the field, he is currently the Test captain of the Indian cricket team.  Here are 5 times Kohli proved he is, currently the best one down in cricket.

5. 90 vs Karnataka, 2006

After losing his father Prem Kohli the previous day, Kohli surprised one and all with his insistence to bat. He was unbeaten on 40 and went on to score a crucial 90, and added 152 runs with Puneet Bisht. Sachin Tendulkar, in the 1999 World Cup hit an unbeaten 140 against Kenya after losing his father the previous week.
4. 107 vs Pakistan, 2015
Hitting a hundred against Pakistan after a miserable tour of Australia speaks volumes of the mental strength Kohli has. He was not at his aggressive best, but was content with one’s and two’s. His knock eventually led India to a famous 76 run victory.
3. 141 vs Australia, 2014
His 141 vs the Poms in the Adelaide Test almost led India to victory. He captained the side in place of Dhoni, and unlike Dhoni, he took the fight to the opposition.  He even faced the marauding Mitchell Johnson.

2. 116 vs Australia, 2012
Infamous for showing the finger to fans in Sydney, Kohli came with the perfect reply. He scored a priceless 116 at Adelaide, though it did not help India as they lost 4-0 in the series. Watch his knock below:

1.133 vs Sri Lanka,2012

Considered one of the Best ODI knocks of all time, Kohli destroyed Lasith Malinga and Co. at Hobart. Needing 321 to win off 40 overs to reach the final, Kohli struck an imperious 133, hitting a total of 76 runs in boundaries itself! Mind you, the target was achieved in the 37th over itself.
