Travelling Pants 2.0: Review

To travel is to live. And to live is to laugh.

No one knows this better than Sorabh Pant, whose hilarious special Travelling Pants 2.0 takes the audience on a journey where the only destination is laughter.

Travelling Pants 2.0
is a rip-roaring look at travel, travellers and cultures across the globe. Pant draws on his own experiences and takes the audience on a journey from Delhi to Australia. Food, technology, slang – nothing’s off-limits on the funniest trip of all time. Along the way, he thrashes some stereotypes while reaffirming others. From Gujaratis’ affinity for Dandiya to misogyny in Saudi Arabia, everything gets a humorous spin in Travelling Pants 2.0.

So, how does he do this? Physical comedy, mimicry and some good ol’ jokes. Sorabh Pant employs the best of all these techniques to create a stand-up special that is nothing short of extraordinary. The best part of Sorabh Pant‘s special, however, is undoubtedly his interaction with the audience. Sure, he makes the most of his own experiences with travel. But the real hilarity ensues when he puts a humorous spin on their travel tales, whether they’ve been to Miami or Madhya Pradesh.

But travel is far from the only thing that the comedian discusses. Technology, history, popular culture, art, politics… it’s all fair game!

Though Travelling Pants 2.0 is primarily a stand-up special, it’s so much more than just that. Through his unique style, Sorabh Pant manages to make audiences laugh while highlighting some very real issues. The show is one that’ll keep you beaming for hours after it’s over, but it’s also one that’ll make you think. And isn’t that the perfect combination?

We love Sorabh Pant and in this special, he shows us exactly why he’s one of India’s top comedians. So, put your Travelling Pants on and don’t miss this special the next time it’s in town.
