Venkatesh Daggubati was born into the popular Naidu family on 13th December 1950 as the second child of Dr. Ramnaidu Daggubati and Rajeshwari. He is the co-owner of Suresh Productions, which is named after his elder brother Suresh Babu Daggubati. He also has a younger sister named Lakshmi. Venky is the uncle to the handsome hunk, Rana Daggubati, the son of his elder brother. Must say good looks run in the family. The actor never seems to age or you could say he ages like fine wine, just keeps getting better with age.
Venky or Victory Venkatesh, as he is fondly known, started off as a child actor with the movie Prem Nagar (1971). After completing his schooling in Don Bosco, Egmore and Bachelors in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai, he flew to the United States to complete his MBA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Once he was back in India he debuted with the movie Kaliyuga Pandavulu in 1986. The movie got him the Nandi award (the highest award ceremony for excellence in Telugu cinema, Telugu Theater, Telugu Television, and Lifetime achievements in Indian cinema awarded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) for best male debut actor. His performance in the 1988 movie Swarnakamalam earned him his second Nandi award and Prema (1988), earned him both the Filmfare Award and the Nandi Award. The blockbuster 1990 movie Bobbili Raja, with Divya Bharti, won him the Filmfare Award for best acting. Some of his most popular movies have been Ram Gopal Varma's Kshana Kshanam (1991) with Sridevi, Chanti (1992), China Rayudu(1992), Dharma Chakram (1996), Kalisundam Raa (2000) and Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule (2007).
Venky has also done a couple of remakes such as Eenadu, which is a Telugu remake of Wednesday with Kamal Haasan, Gopala Gopala (remake of Hindi film OMG) in 2015, Bodyguard in 2012 and the hit movie Drushyam in 2014.
This year, his special appearance in the Naga Chaitanya starrer Premam was well-appreciated and loved by fans.Owing to his hits, the actor will be soon seen in Guru which is the remake of the Hindi movie Saala Khadoos. If the first look posters of the movie are anything to go by, Venky looks nothing like a 56-year-old.
Janmadina subhakankshalu to the south Indian stud!
