2017 has undoubtedly been a fantastic year for music as we saw multiple international acts in India, from the pop superstar, Ed Sheeran and EDM rocker Kygo, to the end of year concerts with Sunburn (Martin Garrix and DJ Snake) and Timeout 72 Hours (Garrix, Jason Derulo, and Wiz Khalifa). It seems like our lucky stars are in alignment for 2018 as well!
Why's that, ye ask? Well, James Blunt is coming to India for his Afterlove World Tour. Ever heard 'You're Beautiful'? The chorus goes something like – 'You're beautiful… You're beautiful… You're beautiful, it's true'. James Blunt wrote and sang this song that went on to become one of the best pop contemporary tracks, featured in multiple movies and played at literally every other person's wedding.
If you are new to the Blunt frenzy, here's a crash course for you –
Genre: Pop with a side of rock and a sprinkle of folk
Essential Tracks: You're Beautiful, Goodbye My Lover, Bonfire Heart, Stay the Night, Love Me Better
Likes to sing about: Ex-girlfriends and falling in love
Accolades: Won Brit Awards, VMAs and nominated for multiple Grammy awards
(In case you're looking for more credibility, he was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Music in 2016.)
1. He was a captain in the British Army.
2. He is married to Sofia Wellesley, who is the daughter of Lord and Lady John Henry Wellesley, and grand-daughter of the 8th Duke of Wellington. (Basically, royal!)
If that's not cool enough, there are more reasons why you should be excited to see him:
He sounds like this –
He's not just blunt by name, he's blunt. Period. –

Nobody can promote an album better than him –
If you thought 2016 was bad – I'm releasing an album in 2017.

He turned down Ed Sheeran's marriage proposal –

To summarize, James Blunt is one of the best and more savage artists out there. Watch him perform live on 9th April 2018 in Bangalore.
