What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year!
Started by Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is the celebration of ladies! Girlfriends meet each other on February 13, talk, have brunch, do fun stuff, and celebrate being with each other. So yeah, it’s pretty much a girl thing. While Galentine’s Day was only celebrated on the show, it soon picked up among young women, who celebrate it today with great enthusiasm.
If this is your first Galentine’s Day, we have some ideas on what you can do with your girlfriends. If you have celebrated this precious day before, here are some more fun things you can do:
Mani-pedis at home
This is the best way to spend time with your gal pals. Invest in some fancy creams and lotions, bring out your mani-pedi sets and get going. After all, you ladies deserve the best.
Fancy brunch that includes waffles, obviously
Galentine’s Day is incomplete without its classic brunch. Pick your favorite restaurant and gorge on delicious breakfast food. Don’t forget Leslie’s favorite – waffles!
You and the ladies can beat some heat off your backs by getting group massages. It’s a great way to relax, and can be followed by some fun shopping.
Take a trip
Make a trip out of Galentine’s Day. A seaside vacation is perfect for you and your lady friends to lounge by the beach and enjoy mimosas. Don’t forget to pack some special food for the road.
Go on a tour of the city
If a trip seems difficult, you can also spend the day strolling about in your own city, discovering food joints and other places. A tour through celebrity houses and hangouts is also super fun.
Do a potluck
You and your friends can all prepare your signature dishes and cocktails and have a pot luck. This is a great way to socialize. Plus, frittatas!
Go out drinking and dancing
When nothing else works, there’s always alcohol. Pick your favorite bar/pub and go out day-drinking. There are fewer people at that time, and more space on the dance floor.
