After last year's super successful Bajrangi Bhaijaan, this Eid, Bhai will be back with yet another film. Titled Sultan, it is the first movie in which Salman will be seen as a wrestler. This is Khan's second outing with Yash Raj Films, and the last one, Ek Tha Tiger, was a blockbuster. Ali Abbas Zafar has helmed this project and we hope that the director doesn't disappoint us like he did with the 2014 Ranveer Singh–Arjun Kapoor starrer, Gunday. The teaser of Sultan was out a few days back and today we got to see the first trailer of this Eid release. Well, it looks amazing and we just can't wait for the movie to hit theatres. So, you too are excited about Sultan? Read on to know all about the film.
Lights Camera Action
Sultan went on floors late last year and most of the film has been shot at the ND Studios in Karjat. Anushka Sharma joined the crew on a later date and the actress shot for an intense fight scene against Salman Khan. Sultan will also have a romantic number, which has been choreographed by Farah Khan. The crew is nearly done with the filming and the post-production work will begin soon.
Almost every actress in Bollywood wanted to star in Sultan. Well, that's understandable as who wouldn't want to work in a Salman Khan film? From Deepika to Katrina, all A-list actresses were considered for the movie. It has even been reported that Parineeti Chopra was a frontrunner for the role and the actress lost oodles of weight to look the part. Unfortunately for her, it was Anushka Sharma who was eventually signed on as the lead actress.
There were reports that Sylvester Stallone or Sanjay Dutt would play the role of Salman’s coach but as expected none of them were true. The makers finally decided to cast Randeep Hooda for the part and the Highway actor will play a strict mentor to Salman’s character. The other supporting cast includes Amit Sadh of Kai Po Che fame (Salman’s brother) and Tyron Woodley (a wrestler who Salman has to fight against).
Clash With Raees
The biggest clash of 2016 was supposed to be between Raees and Sultan, but Shah Rukh Khan has now claimed that he will push his film forward by a week or two. It would be interesting to see which film fared better as the last time the two Khans clashed, (Diwali 2006 – Jaan-E-Mann and Don) SRK was the clear winner.
