When it comes to guitar festivals, Don Ross (Canada), Masa Sumide (Japan), Sandor Szabo (Hungary) and Konarak Reddy (India) are no strangers. With enviable guitar credentials, the acoustic guitar professionals are known for their unique techniques and finger styles. Having won the prestigious US National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship twice, Don Ross is considered one of the top guitarists in the world. Szabo and Sumide are known to be “one of the rare breed of exotic players and composers” and “one of the world’s greatest solo guitarists” respectively.
Konarak Reddy, known for integrating Hindustani and Carnatic styles of improvisation into his guitar technique, initiated the idea of World Guitar Nights, after having hosted guitar greats such as Peter Finger (Germany), Dylan Fowler (Wales), Claus Boesser-Ferrari (Germany) and Bob Bonastre (France) to perform in India every year from 2004 to 2008.
