Yuddham Sharanam: Film Review -Naga Chaitanya Excels in the Action Genre

Verdict: A Power Packed Revenge Story with a Wonderful Screenplay.

Yuddham Sharanam, starring Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles, is directed by debutante Krishna Marimuthu. This is a first time combination of Naga Chaitanya, Lavanya Tripathi and Krishna Marimuthu. The film sees Srikanth make a comeback as the main antagonist. Produced by Sai Korrapati and Rajani Korrapati under Vaarahi Chalana Chitram banner, the music and background score of Yuddham Sharanam is composed by Vivek Sagar and cinematography is handled by Niketh Bommireddy. With a run time of 2 hours and 21 minutes, let’s see what the makers of Yuddham Sharanam have in store for the audience.
Yuddham Sharanam - BookMyShowArjun (Naga Chaitanya) has a happy family with two sisters and a mom who's a doctor and dad who's a social activist. They do a lot of charity work through Svatsya foundation. Anjali (Lavanya Tripathi) is the daughter of Arjun's dad’s friend and a doctor by profession. She is sent to Arjun’s house by her father to get involved in medical practice related to the foundation. Arjun and Anjali gradually fall in love. Even their parents don’t have any objection. When all is going well, Arjun’s parents are killed by Nayak (Srikanth Meka) and his gang. The rest of story is all about how Arjun seeks revenge against the people responsible for his parents' death.

Naga Chaitanya is absolutely charming in the role of a protagonist who goes all out to seek revenge. His act with the drones that come in the first half is very well executed. Lavanya Tripati is so beautiful as Arjun’s love interest and does full justice to her role. Rao Ramesh and Revathy were also a treat to watch. The director showcased them as a very good couple and they impressed everyone with their act. Priya Darshi was decent as Arjun’s friend. Srikanth is back in the race as the main antagonist. He was able to terrify with his act and we expect to see him play such types of roles in future. Vinod Kumar was good as the corrupt politician. The rest of the cast members were apt in the roles they enacted.

Though it is the first movie for Krishna Marimuthu, it didn’t look like he is directing the first time. He was successful in elevating the characters in the first half and got all the emotions right. The screenplay and his narration were novel. The music and background score was fantastic throughout the movie, while the cinematography is also a major asset. Production values by Vaarahi Chalana Chitram are commendable and the editing by Kripakaran is crisp and neat.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:
Yuddham Sharanam is a neat and clean revenge drama inter woven with family emotions. The screenplay is fresh and so is the narrative style. You may watch this movie for its different approach.
