Come September, people from Odisha celebrate the festival called NuaKhai also popularly known as Nabanna. People from Odisha, staying at every major cities of India and across the globe, celebrate Nuakhai with equal fervour. Juhar Parivar, a cultural organisation for people from Odisha living across Hyderabad, has been organising NuaKhai Bhet Ghat for the last 14 years. This provides a unique opportunity for people from Odisha, staying far away from their ancestral homes, to come together and celebrate their culture. The event, is graced by eminent dancers, singers and poets from western Odisha, who enthral the audience with folk art forms. 


Main stay of the event is Sambalpuri song and dance, where young girls draped in Sambalpuri weaves dance in semi-circular formations to immortal tunes like “Dal khai Re”, “Ranga bati - recently featured in coke studio”. Attendees are also treated with delectable recipes from western Odisha, which includes preparations like Ambil (A sour lentil recipe), Bhaji Saag, Pithas (Traditional Sweet forms) and much more. This year, “Nua Khai bhet” is being organised in Satya Sai Nigamagamam, Srinagar Colony on September 15, 2019. People of all walks of life from Hyderabad are welcome to be a part of this, unique cultural extravaganza. This will be the 1st time we are providing a platform like Bookmyshow for easy access and booking of our event tickets.

Q. About the festival of Nuakhai: 

A. Nuakhai is the most important social and agricultural festival, largely observed by people of Western Odisha. Nuakhai is observed to welcome the new rice of the season. It is a festival for the worship of food grain. Nuakhai is also called Nuakhai Parab or Nuakahi Bhet. The word nua means new and khai means food, so the name means the farmers are in possession of the newly harvested rice.  The festival is seen as a new ray of hope.


Q. About Juhar Parivar, Hyderabad?

A. Juhar Parivar, Hyderabad is a closely bonded community registered under the Telangana Society Registration Act. 2001, Vide registration No: 813 of 2017. The sole objective of our community is to preserve the rich heritage, culture, customs and traditions of our mother land Odisha and especially Western Odisha. In an endeavor to do so, we celebrate our roots by conducting and participating in various Cultural, Socio Cultural events pertaining to Charities, Blood Donation and regional festivals. 


Q. Who can attend the event?

A. Western Odisha culture music, dance form and cuisine is unique. People from all communities are encouraged to come and be part of this unique cultural extravaganza 


Q. What kind of food is served in the event? 

A. Delectable vegetarian cuisine from western Odisha, specially cooked by reputed chefs from western Odisha region will be served in lunch. Rice, Dal, 2 Veg Curries, Ambila, Paneer, Saaga, Khiri, Manda Pitha, Sweets, Chutney. Apart from this people can purchase food items from our vendor partner.  


Q. Is food chargeable 

A. Unlimited lunch is included as part of ticket prices. Food Items purchased from our other vendor partners are chargeable, based on their rates

Q. Will I receive confirmation of my registration?

A. Yes, once we have processed your registration and payment, a confirmation detailing your registration will be sent.


Q. Do I need to bring my registration confirmation to the event?

A. Yes


Q. When do I get my badge?

A. Your registration packet will be available for pickup at the conference/convention registration desk. Only the registered attendee may pick up their registration packet.


Q. What is the cancellation/refund policy?

A. Once Tickets booked, cannot be cancelled or refunded. You can nominate and pass the ticket to anyone with in your friends, relative to attend. Kindly ensure to share the details with the person attending on behalf of you.
