Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first edition of the three-day Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav 2024, an event showcasing the inaugural edition of the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav 2024- a flagship event to celebrate the cultural, social, and economic contributions of the eight Northeastern States is scheduled to take place from 6th to 8th  December 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This event will feature thematic exhibitions, state-specific pavilions, design conclaves, and dedicated pavilions on Eri and Muga silk, alongside focused discussions to strengthen economic collaboration, promote cultural exchange, and advance sustainable development in the region.

More than 300 artists and artisans from these states will be participating in the event. Along with the eight state pavilions, there will be a live demonstration area where artisans showcase their handicraft making in real-time, a Geographical Indicator (G.I.) product zone, and immersive digital selfie area, a technology-enabled youth-engagement zone and a food-court serving north-eastern delicacies.

Being anchored by the Ministry of Development of the North-East Region with support from the Ministry of Communication, it will also have performances of dance forms and folk music. Entry is free and visitors are allowed It will be open to the public from 05:30 PM on 6th December

And 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM from 7 December to 8 December 2024.
