Bengaluru! Prepare for a tectonic shift with a massive two-day festival on December 16th and 17th, 2023 in the form of Bandland. It’s gonna be a pilgrimage for rock enthusiasts, paying homage to the country's OG music capital and rekindling the spark that defines the music from Bengaluru’s community of rockers.
The inaugural edition features 12 international and homegrown indie-rock luminaries. Legendary British rock band Deep Purple and American rock icons Goo Goo Dolls headline each day of the festival. Also sharing the stage are Americana-indie rockers The War on Drugs and garage-punk outfit Amyl & The Sniffers, both of whom will make their exciting debut in India.
Homegrown musicians and bands on the roster for the two days include notable names from the Indian music ecosystem such as Parikrama, one of India’s oldest bands known for their signature classical rock fusion; Thermal and a Quarter (TAAQ) join Deep Purple for the second time in the city after their opening act for the band in 2001, along with next-gen bands, Parvaaz, The F16s, Aswekeepsearching, Skrat, Pacifist and The Earth Below.
This festival isn't just for rock fans, but a sonic revolution for music enthusiasts in and around Bengaluru and across the country. Trends will come and go, but Bandland is here to stay.
