Yati Gati is a performance series organised by The Temple of Fine Arts and Atta Galatta. The purpose of the series is to stage the dialogue between the artist and the audience.
For this session, we will be hosting Chitra Poornima. The event will be a combination of her performance and dialogue with her in the intimate setting of Atta Galatta.
Chitra Poornima is a Carnatic Vocalist. She has presented solo and collaborative classical concerts at various platforms, while also constantly trying to extend her love for music in diverse spheres- such as dance, theatre, and teaching.
Poornima has been blessed with Teachers who have inspired, guided and groomed her, and instilled a deep passion for the arts in her. She began learning at the Temple of Fine Arts Singapore, from Teachers Rajalakshmi Sekar, and later from Gowri Gokul. She then went on to further her learning of the art-form with the renowned musician, Bombay Jayashri in Chennai, India. Poornima continues to deepen her search through practice and performance, as well as teaching at the Temple of Fine Arts. She is also currently pursuing her Masters in Music Education at the National Institute of Education, Singapore.
