With Come Together, the Mumbai based arts company First Edition Arts presents the next episode of the popular series that offers a young and contemporary experience of Indian classical music. Teaming up with Café Zoe, the popular and stylish café, brasserie and bar in Lower Parel which also hosts theatre and music concerts, Come Together will present classical instrumental concerts as solo and duet sets every quarter in an all new setting free of the typical formalities and rigidities of classical music concerts. Musicians will interact freely with listeners who will be encouraged to take a closer look at the gorgeous instruments and ask questions.
Before and after the concert, listeners and musicians will mingle and spend some quality time over some great F&B at Café Zoe. But while the ambience leans towards youth cultures of the day (with musicians dressed in jeans and T-shirts), the music will be exciting, rigorous, rich in improvisation and in keeping with the artistry of Indian classical music. We aim to build up wider interest in classical music without taking the typical `fusion` route.
After 2 concerts last year we are back with the third concert in the series on February 17 with three very exciting musicians. Jay Gandhi (flute), Abhishek Borkar (sarod) and Ishaan Ghosh (tabla).
About the event:
In the third edition of the series, the concert features Jay Gandhi (Flute), Abhishek Borkar (sarod) and Ishaan Ghosh (tabla). This is straight ahead Hindustani classical music at its best performed in an all-new setting, in the company of friends and some great F&B at Café Zoe. Free of some of the rigid protocols of the typical classical music concert, Come Together is the best new experience of classical music in town.
