Our body is a storehouse of knowledge, wisdom, experiences, memories and emotions. This workshop brings alive the interconnection of our mind and body through body awareness, movement activities and reflection.
In this experiential workshop, together we will create a safe space to express and explore our emotions through movement – warm-ups, creative movement, rhythm and metaphors. This process facilitates experiential insights about how we hold, store, express and are impacted by emotions in our daily life and relationships. The activities increase range of motion, body co-ordination, attention span and develop spatial awareness, memory and sequencing skills and group co-ordination. Most important of all, one learns to be creative and imaginative while being sensitive to each other’s movement cues and language.
This workshop is for you if you feel your body wants to move, you want to experience the connection between your mind and your body, tap into the body’s intelligence or simply explore a new way of expressing yourself. The workshop is for anyone who would like to experience the effects and benefits of expressive dance and creative movement. Everyone is welcome.
No dance experience is required to participate in this workshop. We encourage you to wear comfortable clothing.
