MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival

Here are the Final Ten selections for the 22nd Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival, a worldwide event taking place in over 400 venues across six continents between September 26 and October 6, 2019. By virtue of their selection, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified. The Final Ten MANHATTAN SHORT finalists hail from seven countries with films from France, Iran, Canada, Finland, and Germany alongside two films from the USA and a record three from the United Kingdom. 

These Final Ten films represent the best short films from among 1,250 submissions from 70 countries received by MANHATTTAN SHORT for 2019, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films worldwide

Last year’s Best Actor award-winning film ‘Fauve’ was also nominated for Oscars in Feb 2019. Thus, this is your chance to catch some potentially award-winning films early on.

Last year, Pocket Films along with Vkaao, screened the global finalists across 5 cities and received a fantastic response. Thus, in addition to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru we are also going to screen in Kolkata and in more cinemas.

With the aim of getting an Indian short film in the global top 10, Pocket Films also conducts the MANHATTAN SHORT India contest. To encourage Indian creators, Pocket Films along with Vkaao will also be screening the winning Indian film along with the global finalists.
