The third edition of Banyan Tree's Mumbai Margazhi Mahotsavam is here!
This festival is presented in the auspicious Margazhi month, that is considered very significant for spiritual sadhana. This month has several festivals and lends itself to Carnatic music concerts too since most of the compositions in this genre are deeply devotional.
Earlier, Mumbai Margazhi Mahotsavam was scheduled to be held on 8th and 9th January, however due to the pandemic we had to postpone it to 26th and 27th March.
This festival was launched in 2020, taking inspiration from the famous Chennai Margazhi concert season. All the lovers of Carnatic music who cannot be in Chennai for the famous Margazhi season can now have the feast of Carnatic music right here in Mumbai with their own Mumbai Margazhi Mahotsavam.
The day long festival spread over two days will feature Kutcheries and Lecture Demonstrations presenting top Carnatic musicians, maestros in the making as well as the young & upcoming talented musicians to encourage them.
The festival is a celebration of the ancient cultural heritage of India, a living tradition that is glorious, enchanting and elevating at the same time. Not only this, enjoy the special South Indian Canteen Facility by well-known caterer from Chennai, Arusuvai Arasu from morning till night at the venue which will make it a wholesome experience.
So, in our very own Mumbai here is a feast for the senses, for the ears with brilliant music, taste buds with authentic south Indian food, the eyes with most beautiful Kanjivaram sarees...
