America Khatti Meethi by Dr. Mrunmayee Bhajak
Book Reading & Storytelling
America Khatti Meethi is an engaging event that celebrates the work of Dr. Mrunmayee Bhajak, whose book of the same name offers an insightful glimpse into the myriad experiences of life in America.
The America Khatti Meethi programme invites you to an enchanting evening where literature transcends the written word through a unique blend of storytelling, music and visual art. Dr. Bhajak will narrate selected stories, complemented by evocative imagery and a thoughtfully curated musical backdrop, creating a multi-sensory experience that transports the audience from the pages of her book to the stage. This book consists of small stories, most of them based in Saint Joseph, a small town in Michigan in the US. The stories explore humongous libraries, American schools, mesmerising nature, American culture and funny incidents created due to cultural differences.
Come and discover the bittersweet tales of Dr. Bhajak’s American journey accompanied by backstage assistance from Sameer Kadam, Priyal Devlatkar, and Pritam Pathare Singh, and participate in a cultural dialogue that promises to enrich and inspire.[L1]
