Hypnosis involves the practice of methodically slowing down and relaxing the body's systems until the mind reaches a state of relaxation, or light trance, which allows it to readily accept beneficial suggestions.
Our brain produces electrical signals to carry information from one area to another. This electrical activity is measured in Hz. Self Hypnosis takes advantage of the highly suggestible state of the brain that results in a particular Hz range.
The high suggestible state is called the Alpha State of Mind. When the brain is in the alpha state, its dominant operating frequency is between 8 - 13 Hz. Below the alpha is the theta mind state that is between 4 - 7 Hz.. Both states are good for self hypnosis.
Self Hypnosis is a method of inducing your mind into trance (lowering the dominant frequency). The deeper you get, the better. When at this state you make positive suggestions to yourself.
The suggestions influence your subconscious and as a result, they also alter the way you feel and deal with your life. The form of suggestions can be aural, visual or anything that you feel comfortable with.
