Yours truly theatre is happy to announce the ‘theatre In Therapy’ Workshops. Theatre has been an art form that pertains closely to human emotions. In particular interactive formats of theatre such as Playback theatre, techniques of Psychodrama and Augusto Boal’s Rainbow of Desires, to name a few. It has been known to connect directly with the emotions of the audience by enacting their stories or addressing their issues. Drama Therapy follows on the same lines but more in specific to those who are in need of therapy. It uses many techniques and many forms of theatrical interventions as therapy including role-play, theatre games, group-dynamic games, mime, puppetry, and other improvisational techniques.
What will be done at the workshop?
This will be a setting for 10 participants which includes professional mental health practitioners as well as non-professionals. The group will come together and work towards addressing any issue of any participant that arises in the process.
The first two days of the workshop shall be directed towards Drama therapy and the third day shall be directed towards discussing and reflecting upon the methodologies and techniques used during the workshop. The third day shall be focused towards professionals of the field; however, non-professionals are welcomed to join the discussion.
