I am 42, with two kids and a wife. Ideally, by now, mistakes made so far would have left some lessons.
But I have realized that my number of mistakes per annum has not gone down with passing years. We are always a lesser wise version of our older selves.
Hence there is no point in learning from your struggles because every struggle is a different challenge altogether. From settling in an arranged marriage, having kids, managing in-laws, school admissions to handling friends, every situation is different. Every situation leads to new mistakes because lessons of the earlier struggles don't add any value.
Now, I just keep track of my memories. Not even trying to get wiser.
