Workshop: People Called Mumbai
Vinitha Ramchandani, The People Place Project, FunOkPlease
Who built the city of Mumbai? Why is it called the 'City of Dreams'? How did Mumbai become such a busy city?
Explore the story of Mumbai through its people and their occupations through history in this fun creative writing workshop!
In this workshop, the children will participate in an interactive discussion about Mumbai. This will be followed by a tour of the clay models in the Museum's collection that gives an idea of the lifestyle of Mumbai in the 19th and 20th centuries. Inspired by these clay models and discussion, the participants will be encouraged to write or illustrate a story about how they perceive the city today!
The workshop will be conducted by the author of the book 'People Called Mumbai' (children's edition) by Vinitha Ramchandani.
Charges are inclusive of Museum entry ticket for the participants and an author-signed copy of the book 'People Called Mumbai'!
